Solutions of Matt Ink Printing on EBG for Membrane Switches

Sep 30, 2020

Many people told us that printing matt ink on EBG material is not good for membrane switches. Mainly because the adhesion isn't long-lasting. But usually, the membrane keypads need to use the EBG material which is anti-scratch. In order to solve this problem and also prove that it can be printed matt ink on EBG material, LUPHI ELECTRONICS did some experiments.

Below are the details:

We tested 5 different types of clear varnish ink on EBG PET material for membrane switches.

UB-1, UB-2, B-15, 09-CL2KG and 09-CL5KG

Membrane Switches Printing Development: Our Discovery

  • The adhesion capability of B-15 is the worst.
  • UB-1 and UB-2 are much better.
  • 09-CL2KG and 09-CL5KG are the best, with no dropping of the ink after did various kinds of testing.

Through UV oven parameters:

Three light tubes are lighted together, rotation speed set 35, pass through twice.

Testing methods: scratching testing, embossing testing, and cutting testing.
